Entrevista exclusiva con Eruption Artistique sobre su sencillo "So Strange"

Eruption Artistique, el prodigioso dúo musical neerlandés, ha lanzado un sencillo que cautiva, sorprende y psicodélica, "So Strange"se despliega como un vórtice de emociones, envolviendo al oyente en una atmósfera de intriga y fascinación. Con una instrumental exquisitamente ejecutada, Eruption Artistique logra transmitir una gama de sentimientos complejos e indescriptibles.

Desde los primeros acordes, se percibe una sensación de lo desconocido, como adentrarse en un bosque encantado de sonidos. La guitarra, delicadamente melódica, traza líneas sinuosas, creando una textura sonora en constante evolución. La percusión, tan intrincada como hipnótica, aporta un pulso cautivador a la canción, mientras que los elementos electrónicos se deslizan de manera seductora a través de la melodía.

1. Cuéntenos sobre el proceso creativo detrás de "So Strange". ¿De dónde surgió la inspiración para la canción? // Tell us about the creative process behind "So Strange". Where did the inspiration for the song come from?

Eruption Artistique (Spa): Antes que nada déjame agradecerte por esta entrevista genial. La mayoría de las entrevistas que hacemos son solo una copia irrelevante del pasado, pero esta es realmente relevante. Gracias por eso.Nuestro proceso creativo se inspira principalmente en otras artes. En este caso se trataba de literatura, el último libro de Bret Easton Ellis; los fragmentos. Es un libro increíble. Me trajo de vuelta a mi propia juventud y los miedos que tienes cuando eres joven. So Strange trata sobre el miedo y el hecho de que realmente no entendemos nada en este planeta, especialmente el amor y la belleza.

Eruption Artistique (Eng): First of all let me thank you for this cool interview. Most interviews we do are just some irrelevant copy past shit, but this one is really relevant. Thanks for that. Our creative process is mostly inspired by other art. In this this case it was literature, the last book by Bret Easton Ellis; the Shards. It is such an amazing book. It brought me back to my own youth and the fears you have when you are young. So Strange is about fear and the fact we don’t really understand anything on this planet, especially not love and beauty. 

2. ¿Cómo describirían su sonido y cómo creen que ha evolucionado desde que comenzaron como banda? // How would you describe your sound and how do you think it has evolved since you started as a band?

Eruption Artistique (Spa): Nuestro sonido es una mezcla completa entre el Rock n'Roll alternativo de los 60 y los 90. Adoro absolutamente The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, etc., pero también Oasis, Dandy Warhols y The Raveonettes. El hecho de que suene cada vez mejor es porque tenemos más dinero para gastar en nuestro arte.

Eruption Artistique (Eng): Our sound is a complete mix between 1960’and 1990’ alternative Rock n’Roll.  I absolutely adore The Doors, Jefferson Airplane etc etc, but also Oasis, the Dandy Warhols and The Raveonettes. The fact it sounds better and better is because we have more money to spend on our art.

3. Eruption Artistique está compuesto por músicos, cineastas, fotógrafos y actores. ¿Cómo influye su experiencia en estas diferentes áreas en su música y videos? // Eruption Artistique is made up of musicians, filmmakers, photographers and actors. How does your experience in these different areas influence your music and videos?

Eruption Artistique (Spa): El hecho de que tengamos muchas disciplinas dentro de nuestro colectivo, da como resultado la mezcla de la música RNR y el cine negro oscuro filmado. No tocamos en vivo (todavía), queremos que la gente entre en nuestro mundo como lo hizo Die Antwoord.

Eruption Artistique (Eng): The fact we have many disciplines within our collective, results in the blend of RNR music and dark noir filmed cinema. We don’t play live (yet), we want people to step in our world like Die Antwoord did. 

4. "So Strange" presenta una historia oscura de amor neopsicodélica. ¿Cómo se relaciona esta historia con su propia vida y experiencias? // "So Strange" presents a dark neopsychedelic love story. How does this story relate to your own life and experiences?

Eruption Artistique (Spa): Creo que la vida de todos tiene altibajos. Cuando escribí esta canción no estaba feliz en absoluto. El libro de Easton Ellis me ayudó a volver a ser feliz ya poner las cosas en perspectiva. Aún así, el hecho de que todo es jodidamente extraño sigue apareciendo... Leer el libro y escribir y grabar la canción fue un poco como una terapia.

Eruption Artistique (Eng): I think everybody’s life has ups and downs. When I wrote this song I was not happy at all. The book from Easton Ellis helped me being happy again and to put things in perspective.  Still the fact everything is so fokking strange keeps popping up...Reading the book and writing and recording the song was a little bit like therapy.

5. Han sido incluidos en la lista de reproducción oficial de Spotify de Suicide Squad 2 y han recibido muchos elogios de fanáticos y críticos. ¿Cómo se sienten al recibir tanto interés por su música? // They have been featured on the official Suicide Squad 2 Spotify playlist and have received much praise from fans and critics. How do you feel receiving so much interest in your music?

Eruption Artistique (Spa): Recibimos muchas reacciones increíbles de personas y revistas de todo el mundo. A la gente le encanta la combinación entre nuestro sonido y las imágenes. Esto me enorgullece mucho. La canción Ball&Chain (en la lista de reproducción de Spotify de Suicide Squad 2) se grabó bastante rápido, pero se convirtió en una especie de pista de culto. Ahora estamos regrabando la pista. Esta vez con un presupuesto mucho mayor y muchos artistas geniales que aparecen en la canción. Va a ser una jodida explosión.

Eruption Artistique (Eng): We receive many awesome reactions from people and magazines from around the world. People love the combination between our sound and visuals. This makes me really proud. The song Ball&Chain (on the Suicide Squad 2 Spotify playlist) was recorded quit fast, but became some sort of Cult track. We now are re-recording the track. This time with a much bigger budget and many cool artist that featuring on the song. It is gonna be a fokking blast.

6. El video de "So Strange" cuenta con títeres y disfraces hechos por ustedes mismos. ¿Qué les llevó a querer crear todo desde cero y cuál fue el mayor desafío en este proceso? // The video for "So Strange" features puppets and costumes made by yourselves. What led you to want to create everything from scratch and what was the biggest challenge in this process?

Eruption Artistique (Spa): Genial pregunta. Es nuestro mundo, por lo que nadie entiende cómo debe verse o sonar. Lo amamos tanto que no confiamos en nadie más. Lo curioso es que cada vez más personas están ayudando. A veces se les ocurren ideas geniales. Siempre les decimos que sus ideas son bienvenidas pero que tienen que formar parte del colectivo… Afortunadamente cada vez son más los que lo hacen.

Eruption Artistique (Eng): Cool question. It is our world so nobody understands how it should look or sound. We love it so much that we trust no one else. The funny thing is that more and more people are helping out. Sometimes the come up with awesome ideas. We always tell them that there ideas are welcome but than the have to become part of the collective…fortunately more and more are doing so.

7. ¿Qué pueden esperar los fanáticos de Eruption Artistique en el futuro cercano? ¿Hay algún proyecto emocionante en el horizonte? // What can fans of Eruption Artistique expect in the near future? Are there any exciting projects on the horizon?

Eruption Artistique (Spa): Como decía antes, ahora estamos trabajando en la regrabación de Ball&Chain. También estamos grabando un nuevo videoclip de la canción. Va a ser oscuro pero también completamente exagerado, con la lancha rápida Bayliner, Audi R8, coches de policía y, por supuesto, una chica guapa y actores increíbles (de culturismo)...

Eruption Artistique (Eng): As I said before we are now working on the re-recording of Ball&Chain. We are also filming a new videoclip for the song. It is going to be dark but also completely over the top, featuring Bayliner speedboat, Audi R8, police cars, and of course a pretty girl and amazing (bodybuilding) actors…
