1. "Orpheus", evoca imágenes y emociones relacionadas con la mitología griega. ¿Cómo utilizas la metáfora y los símbolos en tu música para transmitir mensajes más profundos y universales? // "Orpheus" evokes images and emotions related to Greek mythology. How do you use metaphor and symbols in your music to convey deeper and more universal messages?

Leti (Spa): Creo que es esencial mantenerlo simple, incluso con viejos mitos que encuentran un significado que habla de nuestra cultura moderna y puede tocarnos a través de un mensaje universal. Como seres humanos, no somos tan diferentes, y todos compartimos experiencias y vulnerabilidades combinadas con metáforas que pueden ser una mezcla potente para hacer una canción inclusiva y universal.

Leti (Eng): I think it's essential to keep it simple, even with old myths finding a meaning that speaks to our modern culture and can touch us through a universal message. As human beings, we are not that different, and we all have shared experiences and vulnerability paired with metaphors that can be a potent mix to make a song inclusive and universal.

2. "Orpheus" se inspira en el mito griego de Orfeo y Eurídice, y combina voces amplias, piano eléctrico conmovedor, sintetizadores y guitarras de ensueño. ¿Cómo lograste fusionar estos elementos sonoros para crear una experiencia musical única que capture la esencia del mito y transmita el mensaje principal de la canción? // "Orpheus" is inspired by the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, and combines spacious vocals, soulful electric piano, synths and dreamy guitars. How did you manage to fuse these sonic elements to create a unique musical experience that captures the essence of the myth and conveys the main message of the song?

Leti (Spa): Me encanta como describes la canción. Trabajo con un excelente productor, Olly Shelton, quien es increíble para capturar mi identidad y visión sonora y ayuda a crear un mundo único que fusiona diferentes géneros. Esta canción fue inicialmente escrita en piano pero siempre tuve algunos arreglos en mi cabeza. Quería que el sonido fuera congruente con el mensaje principal. Quería que la gente explorara la complejidad de su mundo interior, escuchara la letra pero también les permitiera viajar más allá de la canción. Disfruté la música por ser vulnerable y suave como las letras que estoy compartiendo.

Leti (Eng): I love how you describe the song. I work with an excellent producer, Olly Shelton, who is incredible at capturing my sonic identity and vision and helps create a unique world that merges different genres. This song was initially written on the piano but I always had some arrangements in my head. I wanted the sound to be congruent with the main message. I wanted people to explore the intricacy of their inner world, listen to the lyrics but also let them travel beyond the song. I enjoyed the music to be vulnerable and soft like the lyrics I am sharing.

3. La pista es descrita como ambiental, minimalista y atmosférica, con un piano y un sintetizador que respaldan una melodía conmovedora y pegadiza. ¿Cómo trabajaste en la creación de esta atmósfera musical y qué emociones deseas evocar en los oyentes con tu interpretación? // The track is described as ambient, minimalist and atmospheric, with piano and synth backing a soulful and catchy melody. How did you work on creating this musical atmosphere and what emotions do you want to evoke in the listeners with your playing?

Leti (Spa): Me encanta investigar el tipo de sonido que quiero para mi canción. Me encanta explorar diferentes géneros y ya no estoy preocupada (¡antes!) por encontrar y quedarme con un género. Cambio y evoluciono constantemente, tantos artistas han influido en mi gusto. Sería demasiado simplista para mí caber en una caja. Comienzo con el piano, ya partir de ahí, hago un viaje de descubrimiento de cómo debe ser el paisaje sonoro. Trabajo con pistas de referencia y, para cada una, destaco lo que creo que funcionaría para mi canción.

Leti (Eng): I love researching the type of sound I want for my song. I love exploring different genres and am no longer worried (I used to!) to find and stick with one genre. I constantly change and evolve, so many artists have influenced my taste. It'd be too simplistic for me to fit in a box. I start with the piano, and from there, I go on a journey of discovering how the sonic landscape should be. I work with reference tracks, and for each, I highlight what I think would work for my song.

En tus composiciones, combinas exploración filosófica e introspectiva con paisajes sonoros atmosféricos y melodías pegadizas. ¿Cómo encuentras el equilibrio entre la profundidad emocional y la accesibilidad musical en tu música? // In your compositions, you combine philosophical and introspective exploration with atmospheric soundscapes and catchy melodies. How do you find the balance between emotional depth and musical accessibility in your music?

Leti (Spa): ¡Buena pregunta! Puede ser desafiante. Me encanta tener conversaciones existenciales, ya veces se pone pesado, jeje! Es un equilibrio constante. Quién soy como artista está hablando sobre temas que me importan. Encontrar un idioma que inspire a las personas y les haga sentir que pertenecen es muy importante para mí. Digo esto porque sé que las exploraciones filosóficas e introspectivas pueden convertirse fácilmente en pretenciosas y condescendientes, lo cual quiero evitar.

Leti (Eng): Good question! It can be challenging. I love having existential conversations, and sometimes it gets heavy, eheh! It's a constant balance. Who I am as an artist is speaking about topics that matter to me. Finding a language that inspires people and makes them feel like they belong is very important to me. I say this because I know that philosophical and introspective explorations can easily become pretentious and condescending, which I want to avoid.

5. "Orpheus" se describe como una canción que invita a mirar hacia adentro. ¿Qué te llevó a explorar esta temática y cómo crees que la música puede ser una herramienta para la autorreflexión y la conexión interna? // "Orpheus" is described as a song that invites you to look inward. What led you to explore this theme and how do you think music can be a tool for self-reflection and inner connection?

Leti (Spa): La inspiración provino de un resumen que me dieron para escribir sobre la historia de Orfeo. Esta historia siempre ha representado la importancia de confiar en la vida y en el proceso. Específicamente, en una relación, confiar en ti mismo y en la otra persona te permite experimentar el amor verdadero. Confías en tu conexión con esta persona, el amor que los une y la vida misma. No es fácil, pero vale la pena.

Leti (Eng): The inspiration came from a brief I was given to write about the story of Orpheus. This story has always represented the importance of trusting life and the process. Specifically, in a relationship, trusting yourself and the other person allows you to experience true love. You trust your connection with this person, the love that brings you together and life itself. Not easy, but so worth it.

6. En tu carrera musical, has sido apoyada por Help Musicians. ¿Cómo ha influido este tipo de apoyo y oportunidades en tu desarrollo artístico? // In your musical career, you have been supported by Help Musicians. How has this type of support and opportunities influenced your artistic development?

Leti (Spa): Me ayudó a desarrollar mis habilidades de producción (que todavía estoy desarrollando). Estudié composición a los 20, y ahora a los 30, sentí que quería refrescar mis habilidades, por lo que recibir este tipo de apoyo es un incentivo fantástico para seguir haciendo el trabajo que amo.Tener más agencia en torno a mis arreglos y estilo de producción es clave para mi arte y es por eso que estoy comprometido a continuar explorando el camino de la producción musical.

Leti (Eng): It helped me develop my production skills (which I am still developing). I studied composition in my 20s, and now in my 30s, I felt I wanted to refresh my skills, so receiving this kind of support is a fantastic incentive to keep doing the work I love.Having more agency around my arrangements and production style is key to my artistry and that is why I am committed to continuing exploring the path of music production. 

7. Además de "Orpheus", ¿qué otros proyectos o metas tienes para el futuro cercano y cómo esperas seguir evolucionando como artista? // Apart from "Orpheus", what other projects or goals do you have for the near future and how do you hope to continue evolving as an artist?

Leti (Spa): ¡Tengo otros singles que saldrán muy pronto! Actualmente, estoy en un espacio muy creativo y escribiendo mucho. ¡Me encanta sentarme con una canción y seleccionar cuáles quieren estar en el mundo! Solía ser menos selectivo y ahora encontré un proceso que funciona para mí. Creo que las canciones no deberían permanecer demasiado tiempo en una hoja de papel o almacenarse en su computadora porque terminan perdiendo su vitalidad. ¡Al mismo tiempo, merecen ser rediseñados y reelaborados para brillar en toda su belleza!

Leti (Eng): I have other singles coming out very soon! Currently, I am in a very creative space and writing a lot. I love sitting with a song and selecting which ones want to be out in the world! I used to be less selective and now found a process that works for me. I think that songs shouldn't sit for too long on a piece of paper or be stored on your computer cause they end up losing their vibrancy. At the same time, they deserve to be redrafted and reworked to shine in all their beauty!
